F2P P2W FAF MMORPG
Order and Chaos II (OaC2) Redemption is a free-to-play, play-to-win, fun-and-frustrating, massive multiplayer online role playing game.
Whats Fun (Pros):
- Game World. Amazing graphics and animations build an extensive world. Every type of world environment is presented, stocked with wild beasts and monsters;
- Customization. Many various items allow you to customize your characters abilities by adding bonuses to attributes of your choice;
- Free Stuff. In game reward systems provide free weapons, armor, and other usable items;
- Companions. Pets and mounts provide bonuses to your character attributes. Of course, mounts move you faster than walking;
- Intuitive controls. The game controls may be easily used with only your thumbs by holding your device like a common game controller;
- Periodic holiday events. Depending on the season, there may be an in-game holiday event that offers opportunities to obtain free holiday themed items. Thats whats addicting about MMORPGSs, right? Getting fresh new cool stuff to show off!
- Mobility. No need for a desktop or laptop to play this. How cool is that?!? ^_^ /
Whats Frustrating (Cons):
- Pay to win. Ive been playing daily since shortly after its initial release, and always been behind (in terms of armor and weapon development, and tournament achievements) other players who spend real money for enhancing their gameplay. Its a choice, but just saying ... if you play for free, dont expect to have the latest and greatest stuff as fast as the "credit card warriors" will. Youll have to work a little more for it.
- Reward system not truly randomized. While playing 5 characters (one of each class), the rewards (from Lottery and NPC kills) that are restricted to specific classes are most often for the wrong type of class. If rewards were truly random, getting rewards that are usable for your own class would happen more often.
- Trading. The game includes an Auction House for buying and selling items between players, however, there are very few items worth buying and selling. The hard to find items that are most wanted cannot be sold to other players. Such a waste of excellent weapons and armor while so many other players are willing to pay for them.
- Little/insufficient game instructions. If you want to learn the game so you can enjoy it without wasting much time and resources trying to figure it all out, youll need to ask other players (which is annoying if you ask to many questions about every little detail) or search the Internet. There are resources online, i.e. databases, videos, images, and forum posts, and chat rooms.
- Lacks Parental Controls. There arent any graphics or in-game messages to be concerned about. As a parent, I think the game itself is fine. The chat module which all players can access, however, is another story. While the chat module (alpha-numeric text only) contains an active real-time word censor and has filter switches to turn on/off different chat channels, there are no password protected parental control settings to lock the channel settings. Id advise any reasonably prudent parent to use the same caution with this game as they would in considering to allow their children to chat with random strangers.
- Game lag. As with any MMORPG, theres going to be some lag in gameplay. Currently using iPad Air 2 on 55 Mbps cable internet with cable modem integrated wifi router that exceeds my internet capacity, and Im experiencing very little lag. Rarely (for me) when it happens, it can be bad, especially if it occurs at a critical moment in gameplay -.-
OaC2 is an excellent mobile MMORPG that offers captivating gameplay in an extensive virtual world environment. If you choose to play for free, expect to take a little longer to advance, but its still a fun immersive MMORPG experience. I wouldnt let my younger teens play because of the lack of parental controls in the chat system, but my older teens and I play with no worries. The reward system that isnt truly randomized for class specific items can be a little annoying, but overall, if you like MMORPGs, you could enjoy it wherever you take your mobile device.
